POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

$57.50 Hourly

The Electrical Specialist performs a wide range of electrical trade functions involving the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electrical energy. This role requires interpreting blueprints, drawings, layouts, or specifications to install or repair various electrical equipment. The Electrical Specialist diagnoses electrical system issues, computes load requirements, and utilizes a variety of electrical hand tools and testing instruments to ensure equipment functionality.



  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, and conduit systems.
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, or other specifications to determine electrical requirements for installation or repair projects.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices and methodologies.
  • Perform standard computations related to load requirements and electrical capacity.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety standards in all work performed.
  • Collaborate with other trades and departments to complete projects efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on projects.
  • Must possess valid driver's license
  • Must possess TS/SCI with ability to obtain Yankee White Security Clearance
  • Pursuant to Government Contract, you must be a U.S. citizen.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a formal apprenticeship program or equivalent training and experience.
  • Proven experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Proficiency in using electrical hand tools, testing instruments, and measuring devices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Current TS/SCI preferred, must possess minimum TS Clearance with ability to obtain SCI


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Certification as a Journeyman Electrician or relevant professional certification.
  • Experience with industrial or commercial electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
