Position Summary

This position is responsible for the assessment of behavioral and mental health needs in children birth through age five who display social/emotional and behavior problems. It provides mental health treatment, consultation, and recommendations to young children and their caregivers as well as referrals to other care providers. It emphasizes a high level of skill and knowledge in childhood development, family systems, and early childhood mental health issues. It involves working with individuals, families, as well as the larger system. Clinician provides diagnostic assessments, individual and family mental health interventions. It is a position that requires collaborative work and being sensitive to relationships with local schools, County Social Services, and other mental health providers within the community. The Clinician's schedule will need to include multiple afternoon and evening hours. As part of this position, the clinician will gain many opportunities to be trained in evidence-based forms of mental health treatment, as well as receive clinical supervision towards licensure. Given the complexity of providing clinical work to children and families, the productivity expectation for this position is less than that of a typical outpatient mental health provider.
