We are looking for a motivated and passionate individual to join our Dental Services Team as a Dental Hygienist!

This is a new position that will support our Pediatric team, providing oral health care and instilling good habits in the young population we care for.

What you will do:

  • Work 32 hours each week, Monday-Friday 7:00am - 4:00pm
  • Travel to La Crosse, Tomah and Winona

Job Description:

The Registered Dental Hygienist provides treatment and education to patient and family members to prevent oral diseases. The hygienist is also expected to ensure the support, safety and comfort of the patient.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Works with patient and family to educate them with the proper hygiene techniques for maintaining healthy teeth and gums.

2. Counsels patients about plaque control, developing individualized at-home oral hygiene programs and the importance of nutrition for maintaining optimal health.

3. Works with patients to provide dental prophylaxis procedures including scaling, root planning, polishing, fluoride application and sealant for maintaining oral health.

4. Evaluates and records the patients health history, dental charting, oral analysis, including taking and recording blood pressure.

5. Exposes, processes and interprets dental x-rays.

6. Responsible for achieving and maintaining proficiency in the Dental Specialties competency assessment checklist.

7. Perform recall appointments according to dentists' prescribed treatment plan.

8. Adheres to regular and predictable attendance.
9. Personally interacts, engages with and cares for patients.
10. Ensures patient safety.

11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Learning:

REQUIRED

Associate degree in Dental Hygiene

Work Experience:

REQUIRED 1 year dental hygiene experience in a dental office setting.

DESIRED 1 year dental hygiene experience in a dental specialty practice or health care clinic.

License and Certifications:

REQUIRED Dental Hygienist - Wisconsin (DH) Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (with hands on learning) from one of the following programs; American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

DESIRED Dental Hygienist - Iowa (DH-IA) Dental Hygienist - Minnesota (DH - MN)

Adult (18 - 64 years)

Geriatric (65 years & older)
