JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The laboratory of Professor Miriam Freedman in the Department of Chemistry at the Pennsylvania State University seeks to fill a postdoctoral research position in the field of atmospheric chemistry. Research will involve studies of liquid-liquid phase separation in submicron aerosol particles using cryogenic transmission electron microscopy, and other supporting experiments. The research may also involve the development of novel probes for the direct measurement of aerosol pH. Education and Experience The ideal postdoctoral candidates will have research experience in one or more of the following fields: atmospheric chemistry, physical chemistry, or analytical chemistry. Applicants must have recently received, or be scheduled to receive, a Ph.D.in an area broadly relevant to our research program by the time employment starts. The individual should be self-motivated and is expected to lead their own individual projects, as well as contribute to collaborative research efforts.
