Posting Summary
The Department of Neurology will hire a faculty member to participate in the clinical care of patients, under the administrative structure of the Rutgers Health Group according to a schedule determined by the Chair. The principal activity will involve both outpatients and inpatients consultations. The inpatient duties consists of several weeks per year of inpatient general neurological consultation according to a schedule determined by the Chair.

  1. Establish general neurology outpatient clinic.
  2. Participate in Residency Program General Neurology Clinic.
  3. Participate in the in-patient service according to a schedule determined by the chair.
  4. Participate in the teaching mission of RWJMS to the extent determined in consultation with the Department Chair. This may include teaching Neurology residents and rotating residents in the inpatient and outpatient settings and in small group seminars; teaching medical students in inpatient and outpatient setting, in small group seminars or in formal lectures in the pre-clinical setting.
  5. Participate in the community service responsibilities of the department in such areas as providing neurological care for indigent patients and teaching or advising lay community groups in the area of general neurology according to a schedule to be determined in consultation with the Chair.
  6. Participate in the administrative tasks of the Department of Neurology and RWJMS. This will include membership in standing or ad hoc departmental and institutional committees as determined in consultation with the Chair and according to RWJMS By-Laws; and attending departmental and institutional faculty meetings.
  7. Understands and adheres to Rutgers' compliance standards as they appear in RBHS's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
  8. Performs other related duties as assigned.
  9. Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Rutgers' regulations, laws and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified. (To be included in all professional, supervisory and managerial job descriptions.)
  10. Ensures that the staff are trained and evaluated on their knowledge of and adherence to compliance policies and procedures specific to their jobs. (To be included in all supervisory and managerial job descriptions.)

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
MD; To qualify, candidate must be graduate of an ACGME-accredited neurology residency and be board eligible or certified.
