Training Manager

Training Manager will provide and coordinate mandatory training for emergency programs. The Training Manager will ensure programs and emergency or humanitarian services employees are in compliance with all required Cherokee Federal, Office of Refugee and Resettlement (ORR), and Health and Human Services (HHS) training; tracks employee training; conducts frequent audits; and reports findings to leadership.

Training Manager Responsibilities Include:



  • .
  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Includes the following.
  • Ensures compliance with company, ORR, and HHS regulations for training-related policies and procedures.
  • Creates training curriculum and develops training materials that includes: ORR required training, refresher, annual, biannual, and biennial training to meet contractual obligations.
  • Creates training plans.
  • Coordinates all aspects of training and ensures delivery is in conjunction with adult learning methodologies.
  • Monitors, evaluates, and audits training in accordance with program goals, ORR Policy, HHS minimum standards, and other contractual requirements.
  • Ensures attendance and completion of training is documented and training records are maintained on file and within SharePoint and/or chosen platform.
  • Collaborates with management and supervisors to ensures all Cherokee Federal staff, volunteers, contractors and subcontractors on site have obtained required training in accordance with ORR and HHS requirements.
  • Tracks training and maintains communication with management and supervisors concerning issues with training.
  • Ensures training materials are current and updated as policies change and ensures training material reflects required changes.
  • Remains current on all areas covered by training (including changes/updates made by ORR, etc.) and ensures all members of the Training department are well-versed on all requirements and are able to convey current information, and address any questions posed by staff being trained.
  • Shall be a subject matter expert on all policies; statutory requirements applicable to emergency programs; Code of Conduct; and other corporate policies that regulate the conduct of employees.
  • Remains current with adult education (andragogy) and modalities of training delivery trends.
  • Coordinates scheduling of training with Lead Trainers, trainers, and all stakeholders involved at the program site.
  • Coordinates with procurement and logistics to ensure department has required equipment and resources to conduct training
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.



Training Manager Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:



  • Bachelor's degree and five years minimum relevant experience including training curriculum development. Master's degree preferred. Proficient in MS Excel and MS Word.
  • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and communication skills (both oral and written) are mandatory.
  • Certified in CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute); CPR; and First Aid and is comfortable with equipment and processes.
  • Flexibility and work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Must be self-starter and work independently with limited direction.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and a background check is mandatory.
  • Must be bilingual with the ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish.
  • Must possess U.S. citizenship or be a U.S. National.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
