Position Summary
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Radiation Oncology department invites board certified/board eligible applicants to apply for a full-time clinical faculty position to serve in its Wake/Johnston County division.

This division encompasses 5 clinics, including UNC/Rex hospital in Raleigh and 4 freestanding facilities in Wakefield, East Raleigh, Clayton, and Smithfield. The centers are staffed by nine radiation oncologists, who work closely with colleagues in medical and surgical oncology at all sites. Formal programs currently exist in Thoracic, Breast, Gyn, GI and GU oncology, with a robust patient navigation system, weekly tumor boards for each of these sites, and an active research program. We have active programs in SRS/ SBRT and HDR brachytherapy. We are seeking candidates with excellent training, strong rapport with colleagues and referring physicians and willingness to grow programs with us. We work closely with faculty at UNC in Chapel in the areas of clinical trials, IORT, brachytherapy. Opportunities exist for teaching, research and leadership if desired, though not required.

At this time, we are seeking a candidate to work full time at our Smithfield location. Equipment includes an Elekta Infinity accelerator with SBRT and breath hold capability.

The greater Wake/Johnston County area is a wonderful place to live and raise a family with a temperate climate, proximity to both the mountains and coast, an international airport, an abundance of outdoor activities, and a rapidly expanding restaurant and cultural scene.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Applicants must possess a MD degree with subspecialty training in Radiation Oncology. Board certification or eligibility is required.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Highly-qualified and personable candidates are desired.
