We are seeking a skilled General Obstetrician and Gynecologist with a passion for teaching and academic medicine to join our growing team. This position offers the opportunity to provide exceptional patient care while mentoring and training residents and medical students in obstetrics and gynecology in a dynamic, academic clinical environment.

Whether your clinical interest is laborist-only, ambulatory-only, or a combination of both, including scholarly pursuits, we can customize a position to you. Weekday 24-hour laborist shifts have 24-post-call time off, and weekend 24-hour shifts offer an additional day off, so you don't lose your weekend. Ambulatory shifts can be both as a resident-preceptor or as the primary physician seeing patients on your own.

We offer a competitive salary and the University of Illinois System provides generous paid leave, enrollment in the State University Retirement System pension, including malpractice coverage. Position Summary

The University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria is seeking a skilled General Obstetrician and Gynecologist with a passion for teaching and academic medicine to join our growing team. This position offers the opportunity to deliver exceptional patient care, including actively participating in the educational and clinical training of residents and medical students in obstetrics and gynecology. Clinical opportunities exist for laborist-only, ambulatory-only, or a blend of both inpatient and outpatient, including dedicated time allocated for scholarly activity.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in obstetrics and gynecology, encompassing both outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Actively participate in the teaching of residents and medical students in the context of clinical obstetrics and gynecology, fostering a culture of learning and professional development.
  • Engage in scholarly activities.
  • Contribute to departmental initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and healthcare delivery.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or DO.
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Illinois.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to teach residents and medical students.
  • Experience or interest in research and academic leadership preferred.

The budgeted salary range for the position is $335,000 to $385,000.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity.
