Over the past fifty years, Montefiore's Division of Services for Addiction has helped thousands of people enter recovery and re-join their families and communities. Through recovery, individuals are empowered to help find meaning in their lives and integrate back into their communities.

This position coordinates and assists in the management of an Adolescent Substance Use treatment program. This position will oversee the provision of clinical services, including clinical assessments, individual counseling, family team conferences, development of treatment plans, and making of referrals as needed. The position will also assist in the administrative management of the program staff as well as assist in ensuring the smooth operation of the programs in accordance with Federal, State and local regulatory standards.

Job Responsibilities:



  • Participate in development, implementation and enforcement of clinical policies, protocols and programs the Adolescent Substance Use Program
  • Oversee the review of all admission paperwork, all active charts on a quarterly basis and all discharged charts upon termination
  • Establish and implement utilization review and quality improvement plan that review appropriate admissions, retention and discharge criteria is met and services reflect treatment needs
  • Consult with administrative and executive staff as needed to ensure counseling and vocational staff's compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Hire, supervise, evaluate, and train counseling staff and vocational related internships
  • Observe counselor and vocational staff performance in groups and evaluation sessions to assure that they are conducted using best practices and in a manner that is compliant with all federal, state regulations
  • Determine productivity goals for adolescent program and track staff progress
  • Define, develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive range of vocational services and training plans that follow funding agency's expectations
  • Develop and maintain liaisons with hospitals, behavioral health, and other community agencies to develop recruitment strategies. Coordinate linkage projects with HRA and welfare reform initiatives in New York State, including the Substance Abuse Tracking and Reporting System (STARS).
  • Develop, systems to collect, monitor and report required data to OASAS. Evaluate and maintain databases with relevant vocational information and staff activities
  • Participate in clinic case conferences, supervise and assist in training of clinical staff



Qualifications:



  • Must be a Qualified Health Professional (QHP)
  • CASAC preferred
  • Spanish speaking preferred
  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or related field required
  • Must have at least 3 years of supervisory experience (training and supervision). Must have at least one year treating Behavioral Health Conditions with Adolescents.
  • Must possess interpersonal, communication and group facilitation skills, be creative and able to work well in a collaborative team environment, ability to communicate orally and in writing
  • Must be highly organized and able to work well independently.
  • Knowledge of addiction treatment, preferred experience working with marginalized populations.
  • Must have experience with databases, including Excel.



The hours of this position are 10:00am - 6:00pm Monday through Thursday, 9:00am -5:00pm Friday
