We are seeking a Technician - Journey Level Engines to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth inspections, overhauls, and repairs on marine diesel engines, ensuring vessels operate at optimal performance. This position demands a detail-oriented, problem-solving professional who is committed to delivering high-quality service and maintaining strong customer relationships.

About the Role:

As a Technician - Journey Level Engines, you will:

  • Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostics to assess engine conditions and identify deficiencies.
  • Perform full engine overhauls and repairs as needed to restore peak performance.
  • Verify proper functionality through sea trials and performance testing.
  • Manage costs effectively by utilizing warranties and evaluating service/parts options.
  • Maintain detailed records of service and repairs to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Communicate effectively with customers on-site, providing professional updates and recommendations.
  • Ensure a safe and organized work environment while adhering to industry standards.
  • Provide training and guidance to apprentice technicians, supporting team growth and knowledge-sharing.
  • Complete work logs promptly, ensuring all relevant service details are documented.
What You Bring: Education & Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in engine diagnostics, repair, and maintenance.
  • Hands-on experience with marine large-bore diesel engines (preferred).
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Technical schooling is a plus).
Technical Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities to diagnose and repair engine issues.
  • Proficiency in using electrical multi-meters and other diagnostic tools.
  • Thorough understanding of diesel engine electronic controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and work orders.
  • Proficiency with Laptop/PC-based diagnostic software.
  • Experience with MTU engines, Diasys software, and MCS/RCS electronics (preferred).
Other Requirements:
  • Valid, unrestricted driver's license and insurable under company policy.
  • Own a complete set of mechanic's tools.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.
  • TWIC card is a plus.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
Compensation & Benefits:
  • Competitive Pay: $30.00 - $41.00 per hour (based on experience).
  • Travel Requirement: Up to 25% travel required.
