Position Summary

The Salvation Army Northern Division (Brainerd Lakes Corps Social Services Coordinator provides direct assistance to program participants. The Coordinator also recruits and provides a full range of case management services to Pathway of Hope (POH) participants. POH is responsible for providing targeted services to participants with a desire to break the cycle of crisis and enable a path out of intergenerational poverty.

Full time, $17.00 - $18.00/hour

Essential Functions (approximate time spent)



  • Conduct long-term strength-based, person-centered, holistic case management to POH participants (40%).
  • Provide participants with direct assistance (e.g., foodshelf, Heatshare, vouchers) (15%).
  • Maintain up-to-date, accurate participant information in casefiles and through database entry (15%).
  • Facilitate individual and group educational activities (10%).
  • Assist with seasonal and special events (5%).
  • Recruit qualifying participants for POH and promote social services and corps programs with participants and throughout the community (5%).
  • Engage in internal activities to promote and further POH goals and objectives (5%).
  • Assist with the grant lifecycle (e.g., application, monitoring, reporting) (5%).



Education and Experience



  • Associate's degree in relevant field preferred. In lieu of degree, a combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • If degree is in social work, must be licensed by state board.
  • Previous social services experience required.
  • Must pass background checks.
  • Valid driver's license and meet MVR requirements preferred.
