Nursing Professional Development Specialist - Perinatal Population

Description The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE), Perinatal, is a registered nurse whose practice is clinical nursing education and who oversees required education, competency, training, and professional development for the Perinatal area-specific nursing staff in the UCLA Health system. Encompasses the delivery of clinician(primarily nursing), professional/leadership development, policies, activities, assessment tools, and systems. Promotes excellence in patient care, through skill acquisition in evidence based nursing practice and clinical inquiry. Collaborates with nursing leadership (Unit Director, Clinical NurseSpecialist, and Nursing Professional Development Specialists) to deliver educational programs and secure resources based on needs assessments and adult learning theory. The CNE will work at cover both the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center and UCLA Santa Monica Medical Centers.

Salary Range: $124,600 to $289,400 Annually (budget = $135,720 - $197,775 depending on paid professional experience)

Qualifications

Current CA RN license, required

BSN, MSN in Nursing Education/Education, or committed to or currently enrolled in MSN in Nursing Education, required. Thorough knowledge of a broad spectrum of nursing professional development practices and issues

3 years of recent acute care experience, required

High-Risk Labor and Deliveryexperience, highly desired

5 years of recent perinatal experience, required

Strong interpersonal skills to provide education, training, and resources to develop positive working relationships with nursing staff and leadership
