COMMUNITY SUPPORT SERVICES

FULL TIME - EXEMPT

GENERAL SUMMARY: Provide support to individuals and their families by coordinating and providing services in Applied Behavior Analysis, function analyses and assessment, behavior acquisition and reduction procedures, and adaptive life skills. A BCBA will also oversee programming of associate behavior analysts and provide ongoing support and supervision to Direct Support Professionals (DSP) as it relates to the implementation and documentation associated with Behavior Support Plans.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS:



  • Function in supervisory capacity and provide oversight to all areas of programming including the training of Registered Behavior Technicians, Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts and other treating staff.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of assessment tools, to conduct functional assessments and analyses when appropriate, and to develop appropriate behavior strategies to teach appropriate behavior and reduce maladaptive behaviors.
  • Create ongoing data collection system to establish baseline and programmatic efficacy for all person's served, and to analyze data on a frequent and ongoing basis to guide programming.
  • Develop behavior plans/Recovery Plans for person's served with a focus on teaching and other antecedent strategies for reducing problematic behavior(s).
  • Collaborate, communicate and assist in the training of person's served, parents, staff and/or natural supports.
  • Attend and participate in any meetings with other community providers.
  • Serve as a consultant to natural supports and other staff.
  • Provide direct supervision to Board Certified assistant Behavior Analyst and Registered Behavior Technician.
  • Follows all conduct guidelines and disciplinary standards as described by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
  • Carry and enliven a positive Thrive image consistent with the Thrive's Guiding Principles and professional code of ethics.

Qualifications

Education, Experience and Competencies:




  • Master's Degree in Psychology, Education or Related Field. Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Certification.
  • Previous work with Intellectual/Developmental Disabled (I/DD) adult/young adult population preferred.



Certifications, Licenses Requirements:



  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst Certification
  • Orientation including CPR, first aid, and Safety Care completion required.
  • Valid driver's license and automobile insurance which meets Rhode Island minimum standards required, or the ability to obtain necessary transportation in order to perform the responsibilities/tasks of the job.

All employees are considered benefit eligible if their schedule is 17.5 hours per week or more. Time-off balances are pro-rated for part-time employees. Insurance plans remain the same regardless of FT or PT benefit eligibility.

Reports To:

Board Certified Behavior Analyst reports directly to Program Manager and will be supervised according to Thrive Behavioral Health Supervision Policy.
