LOCATION: IRC Denver Warehouse- 7808 Cherry Creek South Drive #203 Denver CO 80231 TIME COMMITMENT: 10-15 hours per week, regular schedule during business hours M-F 9 am - 5 pm; August 23 - Dec 13, 2024 COMPENSATION: This is an unpaid internship BACKGROUND: The International Rescue Committee (IRC) helps people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster to survive, recover, and gain control of their future. Founded in 1933, the IRC is at work today in more than 40 countries and in 28 U.S. cities. The IRC's U.S. Programs (USP)department creates opportunities for refugees and other vulnerable migrants to survive and thrive inAmerica. USP serves more than 40,000 individuals each year, including thousands of newly arrived refugees, through a diverse portfolio of programs aimed at achieving outcomes in five impact areas: Health, Safety, Economic Wellbeing, Education, and Power. The IRC works with government bodies, civil society actors and local volunteers to help refugees, asyleesand those with Special Immigrant Visas translate their past experiences into assets that are valuable totheir new communities. In Denver and other offices across the country, the IRC helps refugees and asyleesto rebuild their lives through services and programs that assist with initial resettlement through longerterm integration. Presently, these services are case management, employment services, psychosocialsupport, family stabilization, health coordination, health insurance literacy, family reunification andprograms for children and youth. The Denver office also has a legal services program to provide pro bono legal representation to survivors of torture, as well as direct legal services for family-basedimmigration. INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW: The Supply chain Intern will be responsible for supporting our agency's Supply Chain & Operations Team with the daily administrative, logistical, and inventory management tasks related to running a professional warehouse dedicated to refugee resettlement. RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist Supply Chain team with receiving, inspecting, recording, shelving, organizing, and distributing warehouse inventory Maintain warehouse inventory tracker Assist Supply Chain staff with cycle counts Troubleshoot & analyze process flow & efficiency Assist with purchasing - creating online orders Organize, scan and process documents Monitor team email inbox, respond to staff needs, and maintain communication with staff, vendors, and donors Collaborate and partner with staff and Operations team to identify, analyze, and implement new or improved processes Minimum Qualifications:REQUIREMENTS: Basic computer skills, especially Microsoft Office products - Outlook, Teams, Excel - or willingness to learn Position requires extended periods of sitting, walking/standing with some bending, pushing, pulling and stooping Must possess the ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds Some light cleaning will be required Attention to detail Good communications skills Moderate command of English Must be willing to work in a diverse, fast-paced professional environment and be willing to adapt to shifting requirements and priorities SUPERVISION: This position reports to the Supply Chain Coordinator, with daily task supervision by the Supply Chain Coordinator TO APPLY: Interested applicants should submit an online application along with resume and cover letter addressing how your experience and skills meet the internship requirements: https://irc-global.my.salesforce-sites.com/volunteer Qualified applicants will be selected for an initial phone screening with the Volunteer Coordinator.
