What You'll Do As an Assistant Teacher, you will support the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment for young children. Responsibilities include: * Assisting with daily classroom routines and activities * Supporting children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development * Maintaining active supervision and ensuring children's safety * Building positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers * Helping prepare classroom materials and learning centers * Maintaining cleanliness and organization of classroom spaces * Collaborating professionally with teaching teams and administration * Participating in trainings, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities Qualifications Required * High school diploma or GED * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment * Experience working with children preferred Preferred * CDA, ECE coursework, or degree in Early Childhood Education or related field * Experience in a NAEYC Accreditation Plus or Keystone STARS program Make a Difference Every Day At Northampton Community College Child Care Center & Early Childhood Education Lab School, we believe early childhood educators play an essential role in shaping confident, curious, and compassionate learners.
