Position Details

  • Position: Part-Time Assistant Teacher
  • Location: Northampton Community College Child Care Center & Early Childhood Education Lab School - Bethlehem, PA (Reibman Hall Children's Center)
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday with flexible split-shift opportunities available: 6:30 AM - 12:30 PM or 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM
  • Pay Rate: $15.00-$19.00 per hour based on education and experience

What You'll Do

As an Assistant Teacher, you will support the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment for young children.

Responsibilities include:

* Assisting with daily classroom routines and activities

* Supporting children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development

* Maintaining active supervision and ensuring children's safety

* Building positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers

* Helping prepare classroom materials and learning centers

* Maintaining cleanliness and organization of classroom spaces

* Collaborating professionally with teaching teams and administration

* Participating in trainings, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities

Qualifications

Required

* High school diploma or GED

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills

* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

* Experience working with children preferred

Preferred

* CDA, ECE coursework, or degree in Early Childhood Education or related field

* Experience in a NAEYC Accreditation Plus or Keystone STARS program
