Logistics and Materials Manager

Harmon
paid time off, paid holidays, sick time, tuition reimbursement, 401(k)
United States, Texas, Dallas
Oct 28, 2026
Harmon, Inc.

The Logistics and Materials Manager will lead the Dallas supply organization and the systems and processes that convert project demand into executable material and production plans. This role is accountable for end-to-end supply performance, including material planning, production scheduling governance, inventory accuracy, D365 supply-process adoption, supply-risk management, and team capability. The Supply Chain Manager partners closely with the Plant Director, Value Stream Managers, Project Managers, Engineering, Quality, Finance, Continuous Improvement, and enterprise IT/process owners to create reliable material flow, proactive internal-customer communication, and scalable support for multi-shift operations.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Scheduling: Own demand-to-supply planning, the plant scheduling framework, material readiness, scenario planning, and cross-shift planning handoffs. Partner with Value Stream Managers on capacity inputs and execution of line schedules.

Inventory & Material Flow: Own inventory accuracy, replenishment controls, shortage visibility, receiving and staging readiness, and root-cause actions for recurring material issues. Partner with Operations to sustain physical material-handling standards.

D365 Process Leadership: Serve as the Dallas business process owner for supply activities in D365. Establish data discipline, standard work, adoption expectations, issue triage, and training coordination. Partner with enterprise IT and process owners on configuration and complex technical fixes.

Internal Customer Communication: Provide Project Managers with timely, consistent supply-status updates, including material risks, recovery actions, and decisions needed. Coordinate with Value Stream Managers on production-progress communication and with the Plant Director on major commitment changes or escalations.

People Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop the supply team. Clarify work allocation and shift coverage, build backup capability and succession, and ensure critical work is documented, transferable, and supported by standard processes.

Continuous Improvement & Multi-Shift Readiness: Use supply and D365 data to identify recurring constraints, improve flow, reduce manual work, and strengthen planning cutoffs, handoffs, escalation coverage, and material readiness across shifts.

Risk & Decision Governance: Lead recovery planning for material constraints and make routine supply decisions within established thresholds. Escalate customer, cost, schedule, system, staffing, safety, or quality risks early with facts, options, and a recommendation.

Cross-Functional Partnership: Support plant strategy and annual operating planning with supply, inventory, freight, capacity, and constraint inputs. Align priorities and improvement work with the Plant Director and plant operating rhythm.

Experience & Skills

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.

Experience:

  • Progressive experience in supply chain, materials, planning, purchasing, inventory, or manufacturing operations, including experience leading people or significant cross-functional work.
  • Experience translating project or customer demand into material plans and executable production schedules in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP processes and data discipline; D365 experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing supplier or material constraints, recovery plans, inventory controls, and stakeholder communication.
  • Experience supporting multi-shift operations, operating-model transitions, or process standardization is preferred.

Required Skills:

  • End-to-end supply chain leadership with strong judgment across planning, scheduling, purchasing, inventory, material flow, and supply risk.
  • Ability to establish decision rights, standard work, operating cadences, escalation thresholds, and clear accountability across functions and shifts.
  • Clear, proactive communication with internal customers and leaders, especially when commitments, cost, quality, or schedule may be affected.
  • Ability to lead and develop a team while delegating effectively, and succession planning.
  • Collaborative partnership style with the ability to influence Operations, Project Management, Engineering, Quality, Finance, CI, and IT.
  • Commitment to safety and quality, with the judgment to stop and escalate when either is at risk.
