We are seeking a hands-on Accounting Managerto help lead the day-to-day accounting function for a growing organization. This role will have broad responsibility across close, financial reporting, general ledger accounting, job costing, and accounting operations. The position is well suited for someone who enjoys being close to the details, improving processes, and taking on increasing responsibility within a growing business. Responsibilities: Lead the month-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, prepaids, reconciliations, and related closing activities. Prepare monthly financial statements, account analyses, and supporting schedules for management review. Maintain general ledger accuracy and research and resolve accounting discrepancies or unusual activity. Manage intercompany activity and reconciliations across multiple business entities. Maintain job cost accounting, including WIP reporting, project costs, margins, billing activity, and under/over billings. Partner with operational teams to investigate project accounting issues and ensure accurate cost and billing information. Provide oversight and backup support across AP, AR, cash, and payroll processes as needed. Support cash reporting, year-end accounting activities, and information requests related to external tax and financial review work. Improve accounting processes, strengthen internal controls, reduce manual work, and develop more consistent procedures and cross-training. Requirements: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong month-end close, general ledger, reconciliation, and financial statement preparation experience. Experience with job costing, project accounting, or a similar project based accounting environment. Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and core accounting processes, along with solid Excel skills.
