POSITION SUMMARY:
KEMRON Environmental Services, Inc. is seeking a Field Cost Accountant to support project operations in the Atlanta, GA area. This field-based role provides project cost accounting, procurement, and administrative support to keep cost records and reporting accurate and timely and help ensure contractual requirements are documented and met.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:
- Enter and track crew timekeeping from sign-in sheets, daily logs, and timesheets; maintain accurate supporting records.
- Track employee and project expenses, including receipts, mileage, per diem, equipment costs, and other project cost documentation.
- Complete EPA Form 1900-55 and RCMS entries, as applicable, and prepare daily cost reports for project management review and signature. Submit required cost documentation to client representatives, including EPA project contacts.
- Process vendor invoices, including coding, routing for approval, and submitting for system entry. Review accounts payable reports and assist with cash requirements, billing, and unbilled cost reviews.
- Prepare monthly project cost and burn reports, including total spending, days worked, daily spending rates, and projections.
- Support procurement and subcontract administration by obtaining quotes and bids, initiating purchase orders, subcontract agreements, and change orders, and coordinating project supplies and site support needs.
- Maintain organized project files in SharePoint or other designated systems, including delivery tickets, invoices, entry and exit logs, timekeeping records, and receipts.
- Coordinate with project management, field personnel, vendors, subcontractors, clients, and corporate support staff; provide routine administrative and project support.
- Follow required safety and incident-reporting procedures, report concerns to appropriate project or company personnel, and perform other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of two (2) years of administrative support experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating the ability to perform the essential functions may be considered.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, organizational, and recordkeeping skills, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients, managers, crew members, and corporate support staff.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and high-volume documentation, meet deadlines, and maintain dependable attendance.
- Previous accounting experience, especially job cost tracking, daily cost reporting, invoices, expense tracking, or accounts payable support. (Preferred)
- Familiarity with RCMS, EPA Form 1900-55, Dynamics, or similar project and accounting systems. (Preferred)
- Experience supporting field, construction, environmental, or government/EPA projects. (Preferred)
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Work at local project sites, including a jobsite office trailer as needed. Travel to nearby project sites may be required based on business needs.
- Work may include exposure to moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather, heat, humidity, dust, asphalt, hazardous materials, and loud noise.
- Job duties include prolonged computer work and periods of sitting or standing. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid state driver's license and a good driving history approved by KEMRON's insurance carrier to qualify to drive company vehicles.
- Must understand and sign off on corporate and worksite Health and Safety Plans and follow KEMRON standard operating procedures.
- Availability to work after normal business hours and on weekends on an emergency or prearranged basis is required.
