The Warehouse Dock Worker is responsible for manually unloading trailers, moving and organizing materials, and assisting with general dock and warehouse operations. This is a physically demanding position that requires frequent lifting, bending, standing, walking, and working in a dusty, dirty, non-climate-controlled environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, able to work efficiently as part of a team, and comfortable performing repetitive manual labor in hot, cold, and strong-smelling conditions.

Job Duties

  • Manually unloading trailers on the warehouse dock.
  • Removing products and materials from trailers and placing them in designated areas.
  • Moving and organizing materials throughout the facility using appropriate manual equipment.
  • Occasionally operating a pallet jack to move materials.
  • Assisting with general warehouse labor and dock duties as needed.
  • Loading and unloading materials safely and efficiently.
  • Following all work instructions, safety procedures, and production requirements.
  • Performing repetitive lifting and physical labor throughout the workday.
  • Working as part of a team to maintain efficient trailer unloading and material flow.
  • Following proper procedures when handling products and materials.
  • Performing other warehouse and general labor duties as assigned.


Education Requirements



  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous warehouse or material handling training is beneficial.


Experience Requirements



  • Ability to safely and efficiently manually unload trailers.
  • Ability to work in a dusty, dirty, and non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Ability to work in hot summer and cold winter temperatures.
  • Ability to tolerate strong odors associated with food-processing materials.
  • Ability to follow work instructions, safety procedures, and production requirements.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous warehouse, dock, or general labor experience is preferred but not required.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, logistics, manufacturing, or distribution experience is preferred.
  • Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, or warehouse management systems is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of inventory control procedures, warehouse documentation, or Lean warehouse practices is considered an asset.
  • Individuals who demonstrate reliability, teamwork, attention to detail, and safe work habits are well positioned for success as a Material Handler.


Physical Capabilities



  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive material handling tasks throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely move products using manual or powered material handling equipment.
  • Ability to work efficiently in warehouse or manufacturing environments while following established safety procedures.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding manual labor for an entire shift.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift, carry, push, and pull materials.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods.
