Position Description and Purpose:

Key Essential Functions/Duties:

Team Management:
  • Lead, train, and motivate teams of production schedulers and material planners.
  • Set clear performance expectations, establish key performance indicators (KPIs), and conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Maintains and executes SOPs and policies for the team.
  • Foster a positive work environment, encourage teamwork, and promote professional development.
Production Scheduling:
  • Develop and execute comprehensive production schedules that meet customer demand while maximizing efficiency and profitability.
  • Support SIOP process through the development and execution of the master production schedule.
  • Ensure accurate planning through measurement and validation, and maintain planning calendars.
  • Drive supply chain optimization by ensuring effective allocation of resources based on throughput, cost, and sales variables.
Materials Planning:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive materials planning strategies to support production schedules.
  • Ensure use of MRP/ERP tools for integrated planning and manage inventory levels effectively.
  • Ensure availability of raw materials while meeting financial targets for inventory and spending, include review and action on slow moving and obsolete inventories.
  • Ensure escalation of material shortages shortage or other disruptions to production and drive resolution for planning.
Supplier Management:
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements for all materials.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance and procurement teams to address product quality or safety issues.
  • Develop and improve metrics on supplier performance and implement strategies to improve reliability and inventory turns.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including production, procurement, logistics, finance, and customer supply chain.
  • Coordinate planning activities and lead projects supporting new product launches and continuous improvement initiatives.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Continuously evaluate and optimize planning processes and systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and reliability.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, automate tasks, and implement technology solutions.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance metrics and KPIs for production scheduling and materials management.
  • Utilize BI tools to create reports and dashboards.
  • Generate regular reports and present findings to senior management, highlighting trends and areas for improvement.

Education/Experience/Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in supply chain management, production planning, and MRP processes, preferably in the food co-packaging industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in supply chain roles.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in ERP software, Microsoft AX preferred.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and generate meaningful insights.
  • Knowledge of food manufacturing processes, industry regulations, and quality standards (preferred).
