Description

The Warehouse and Delivery Associate is responsible for assisting Warehouse Manager and Materials Inventory Coordinator with day-to-day tasks as prescribed. Works within warehouse operations and supports the inventory management system to meet the overall strategic goals and objectives of the organization. Warehouse & Delivery Associate is to deliver WaterSurplus products, equipment and services as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports the Warehouse Manager and Materials Inventory Coordinator with domestic and internal inbound and outbound freight as a general laborer.
  • Support staff with problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports and exports or customer issues
  • Performs inventory audits and spot checks and reconciles this information in the ERP system (WinMan)
  • Can be called to support other in-house utility needs and labor requirements such as maintenance, building and grounds work, equipment refurbishment support and general shop labor support as needed
  • Use of manual equipment, electric, propane and diesel-powered forklifts and overhead cranes
  • Delivers and picks up inventory and equipment to and from offsite warehouse, vendors and customers as required with WaterSurplus truck and trailer

Product, Equipment and Service

  • Follow all Hawkins/WaterSurplus safety and training procedures
  • Safely deliver products following product transfer protocols and equipment
  • Follow inventory control procedures

Safety

  • Comply with all DOT operating, maintenance, and load securement standards and all applicable Federal, State, and Corporate environmental, safety, health regulations and standard operating procedures
  • Communicate compliance, safety, and equipment needs as personally identified
Requirements

REQUIREMENTS AND PREFERRED BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Mechanical aptitude required with a minimum of 1 year relevant experience in warehouse environment working with crates, pallets, boxes, etc. using moving equipment both powered and manual
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with other employees, managers and the occasional customer within the production facility
  • Experience in working in a team environment where teamwork and collaboration are essential to complete the work assignments and attain the goals of the organization
  • Valid U.S. Driver's license is required and must pass DOT physical examination.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Class A Commercial Driver's License and comply with DOT standards.
  • Knowledge and ability to use a personal computer and knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Will be required to learn the company's ERP system (WinMan) to enter incoming and outgoing freight
  • Knowledge and ability to move freight, stock or other materials to and from storage or production areas, helping with loading docks, delivery vehicles, or containers by hand or with hand trucks or forklift
  • Working knowledge of hoisting devices or winches, packing and repacking containers & truck vans and minor hand tools

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Very heavy work including exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Class A Commercial Driver's License and comply with DOT standards
  • Ability to safely operate a DOT vehicle including sitting for extended periods of time, climbing in and out of truck cab, climbing to access boxes or trailers and operating equipment on the truck
  • Ability to lift over 50 pounds regularly, 75 lbs. occasionally
  • Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, ramps, and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms
  • Ability to regularly climb in and out of truck cab and onto and off of the truck gate
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift and overhead cranes
  • Ability to communicate via spoken word and hear at normal speaking levels with or without correction
  • Requires fine motor skills including the ability to grasp and work with tools
  • Requires stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and reaching
  • Ability to work in a variety of weather and environmental conditions

Expected Compensation: $24.00-$30.00/hr (DOE) + 5% bonus eligibility
