- Receiving & Inventory Management Receive incoming shipments and inspect materials for visible damage.
- Verify that all received materials match purchase orders and shipping documents.
- Record receiving information and update inventory systems accurately.
- Maintain inventory accuracy, lot tracking, and country-of-origin information.
- Identify and report material shortages, overages, or discrepancies.
- Assist in locating missing materials and resolving supplier issues.
- Move materials to appropriate storage or production areas.
- Receive and handle non-inventory items, equipment, and special shipments.
- Material Distribution Store, organize, and distribute materials according to company procedures.
- Deliver production materials to designated work areas.
- Help maintain accurate inventory records and documentation.
- Shipping & Logistics Prepare, package, and ship products, returns, and other materials.
- Complete shipping documentation accurately.
- Coordinate freight shipments and determine shipping costs.
- Ensure shipments meet customer, domestic, and international shipping requirements.
- Work with internal teams and customers to support shipping needs.
- Assist with warranty returns and return material authorization (RMA) requests.
- Monitor and maintain packaging supplies and inventory.
- Equipment Operation & General Support Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Drive company vehicles for deliveries and pickups when authorized.
- Complete daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance tasks.
- Support additional warehouse and logistics duties as assigned.
- May process hazardous or dangerous goods shipments in accordance with applicable regulations.
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous warehouse or material handling training is beneficial.
Experience Requirements
- Experience moving, organizing, loading, or unloading materials in warehouse or manufacturing environments.
- Ability to accurately identify products, labels, inventory locations, and shipping documentation.
- Knowledge of safe material handling practices and workplace safety procedures.
- Ability to operate pallet jacks or other material handling equipment as required.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and dependable work habits.
- Experience working in a warehouse, shipping, receiving, or inventory environment.
- Ability to operate or learn to operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling inventory and documentation.
- Basic computer skills and ability to enter data into inventory systems.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and ability to qualify to drive company vehicles, if required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, logistics, manufacturing, or distribution experience is preferred.
- Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, or warehouse management systems is beneficial.
- Knowledge of inventory control procedures, warehouse documentation, or Lean warehouse practices is considered an asset.
- Individuals who demonstrate reliability, teamwork, attention to detail, and safe work habits are well positioned for success as a Materials Handler.
- Previous experience with shipping, receiving, inventory control, or warehouse operations.
- Forklift certification or prior forklift operating experience.
- Experience with ERP, warehouse management, or inventory tracking systems.
- Knowledge of domestic and international shipping processes.
- Experience handling hazardous or regulated materials
Physical Capabilities
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive material handling tasks throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely move products using manual or powered material handling equipment.
- Ability to work efficiently in warehouse or manufacturing environments while following established safety procedures.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials.
- Ability to safely lift up to pounds, with or without accommodation.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive movements.
- Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment that may include varying temperatures, noise, and moving equipment.
