Summary:

The Engineer will report to the Manager of Engineering as part of the Data Initiatives Group and will provide engineering support to accelerate data-driven innovation and integrate emerging technologies into day-to-day Operations. The engineer will assist with the development of the in-house Rotating Equipment failure prevention and predictive maintenance program including data collection, machine learning modeling, data interpretation, and equipment monitoring. The engineer will be responsible to coordinate and communicate with various Energy Transfer operational groups to assess and diagnosis equipment anomalies while maintaining operational flexibility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The position will support Data Initiatives Group personnel with implementation of data enhancement and standardization projects focused on field operations-related activities and equipment.
  • Build, train, and provide ongoing support for technical machine learning models focused on operational reliability and optimization.
  • Monitor machine learning models for equipment anomalies, assess potential failure conditions, and communicate with field personnel to maintain equipment.
  • Entry and import of raw equipment data into a standardized, formatted, and sorted data system
  • Assist with creation of new AI-centric programs to optimize equipment maintenance and reliability.
  • Provide day-to-day engineering and technical support for various data initiatives.
  • Identify and develop scopes for future data enhancement projects.
  • Collaborate with Operations Stakeholders to oversee equipment reliability and uptime.
  • The position will require constant communication and coordination with Operations, Operations Services, and Operations Analytics (IT) in area of responsibility.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering discipline.

  • 0-3+ years' experience in Oil and Gas Industry.

  • Title conferred will be based on candidates' years of relevant experience.
  • Strong Excel data formatting skills
  • Can modify established workflows and evaluate and assess errors as they arise
  • Must possess strong troubleshooting, problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage workload independently and deliver timely and accurate results.
  • Must be able to multi-task, prioritize work and adaptable to changing due dates.
  • Must have the ability to work with little supervision and to interact with all levels of operations management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with system performance monitoring, data analytics, or reliability engineering and associated applications such as dataPARC, SCADA, and Seeq.

  • Oil and Gas Midstream Operations and Rotating Equipment engineering experience

Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:

  • The Associate Engineer level requires a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and 0-3 years of relevant job-related experience

  • The Engineer level requires a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and 3-6 years of relevant job-related experience

  • The Senior Engineer level requires a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and 6-8 years of relevant job-related experience

  • The Senior Engineer II level requires a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and 8+ years of relevant job-related experience

Working Conditions:

  • Normal office working conditions and occasional field work

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.

  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.

  • Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment will occur.
