Contract Management Analyst V

Duration: 12 Months

Location: Oakland, CA

Worksite: 300 Lakeside Dr, Oakland, CA 94612

Work Arrangement: Hybrid - 1-3 days per week in office, with mandatory Wednesdays onsite

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week


Important Submission Requirements

  • The hiring manager is particularly interested in examples demonstrating Excel, financial management, contract management, and problem-solving.
  • Candidate should be comfortable presenting information and recommendations to senior leadership.


Position Summary

The Contract Management Analyst will manage a portfolio of technology contracts and serve as the primary interface between vendors, internal stakeholders, and IT leadership for day-to-day contract management activities.

The role will support enterprise policies, risk controls, invoice compliance reviews, goods receipts, and financial approvals for O&M contract services. The analyst will conduct strategic contract reviews with IT leaders, architects, and operations teams; drive consensus around O&M costs; and identify opportunities to rationalize, right-size, discontinue non-critical services, and optimize costs.

The position will also partner closely with Sourcing, IT PMO, and IT leadership to develop a strong understanding of contract scope, costs, terms, and conditions and to capture incremental O&M costs associated with contracts.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily contract operations and provide IT business and planning support.
  • Gather, analyze, and summarize data to prepare management reports and presentations.
  • Enter contract financial liabilities into contract management systems.
  • Support contract renewal analysis, financial reviews, and multi-year contract planning.
  • Maintain annual O&M budgets using appropriate accounting and budgeting controls.
  • Enter financial data into tracking systems and prepare regular and ad-hoc financial status reports.
  • Monitor Purchase Orders, review contract invoices and accruals, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues with vendors.
  • Analyze actual spend and forecasts to determine appropriate change controls and escalation to leadership.
  • Perform financial analysis of portfolio cost variances, including plan vs. actual, and identify inappropriate vendor/resource charges.
  • Make appropriate financial corrections in SAP.
  • Lead meetings and act as a liaison among stakeholders to coordinate, document, and schedule contract changes.
  • Capture, analyze, and present data to managers and directors to support business decisions.
  • Plan and control contract renewal scope, track deliverables, and ensure contract origination targets remain on schedule.
  • Develop communications summarizing analysis and recommendations through dashboards, PowerPoint presentations, and executive-level emails.
  • Facilitate problem-solving sessions and workshops with business and technology stakeholders.
  • Proactively follow up on issues and initiatives for senior leaders to ensure successful resolution and implementation.
  • Work closely with IT and functional leadership to ensure initiatives are delivered in a timely and coordinated manner.
  • Partner with data management, financial analysis, and modeling teams to build tools and support report migration to Power BI.
  • Extract data from SAP and transform it into meaningful business intelligence reports and dashboards.
  • Establish and track key business, financial, and performance metrics with IT and functional leadership.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5-8 years of related work experience.
  • Proficiency with:

    • Microsoft Excel - Expert level
    • Microsoft Office
    • PowerPoint
    • Visio




Desired Qualifications

  • Valid California driver's license may be required.
  • Experience structuring contract agreements.
  • Experience with basic financial modeling and/or data management.
  • Experience presenting to leadership and developing PowerPoint presentations.
  • Power BI experience is a plus.
