About the Role:

The Chipper-3rd position is a critical role within the NC Burn operation. This position is responsible for fabricating a piece part that is ready for installation into the assemblies and sub-assemblies efficiently and safely. This role ensures that the chipping process meets production targets while adhering to strict safety and quality standards. The Chipper-3rd works closely with other team members to coordinate the flow of materials and troubleshoot any mechanical issues that arise during operation. Attention to detail and a proactive approach to equipment maintenance are essential to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. Ultimately, this position contributes significantly to the overall success of the wood processing operation by delivering consistent, high-quality output in a timely manner.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 0-3 years experience in denoted field
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, standing for extended periods, and working outdoors.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in heavy equipment operation or industrial machinery maintenance.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and best practices in industrial settings.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues independently.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate grinders and burr tools to achieve smooth edges, remove defects, and prepare piece parts for integration into assemblies and sub-assemblies.
  • Monitor equipment performance and conduct routine inspections to identify and address mechanical issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain a steady workflow and meet daily production goals.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting machinery to ensure efficient operation.
