Diesel Mechanic (Tech B) - Pembroke Pines, FL

If you are an experienced Diesel Mechanic with strong skills in suspension, brake, and electrical system diagnostics and repairs, Waste Pro is hiring a Diesel Mechanic (Tech B) in Pembroke Pines, Florida!

What You'll Do



  • Perform inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on heavy-duty and light-duty fleet vehicles.
  • Troubleshoot and repair suspension, brake, electrical, hydraulic, engine, and transmission systems.
  • Utilize diagnostic software, onboard vehicle electronics, and factory service manuals.
  • Review and complete repairs identified through Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs) and work orders.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and safety inspections.
  • Communicate repair findings with drivers and management.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop environment.
  • Assist and provide guidance to shop helpers and junior technicians.


What We're Looking For



  • Experience with Electrical System Inspections, Diagnosis & Repair
  • Experience with Brake System Inspections, Diagnosis & Repair
  • Experience with Suspension Inspections, Diagnosis & Repair
  • CDL Class B (or ability to obtain within 12 months) preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting and repair skills on diesel-powered equipment
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools and interpret service manuals
  • Knowledge of Hydraulic Systems

  • Sufficient stamina for steady work pace throughout the day
  • Able to utilize all Personal Protective Equipment as mandated by company
  • Physically able to get up and down from the cab of a commercial motor vehicle between 50 and 100 times a day
  • Physically able to lift 50 to 75 pounds from the floor to waist height unassisted
  • Physically able to lift 50 pounds from the floor to shoulder height unassisted
  • Physically able to lift 50 pounds from the floor to overhead unassisted
  • Physically able to push and pull 50 pounds unassisted
  • Physically able to frequently (100-200 times) bend at the knees and waist
  • Physically able to frequently (100-200 times) reach over your head or reach out with extended arms to perform work
  • Physically able to frequently (100-200 times) twist at the waist to perform work
  • Physically able to work in extreme temperatures and weather environments (road calls)


Work Environment

This position is performed both indoors and outdoors and requires working in a busy maintenance shop with frequent exposure to heavy equipment, vehicle traffic, noise, dirt, grease, chemicals, and varying weather conditions. Occasional road calls and work in extreme weather may be required.
