| Position Summary |
The Zannas lab in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate. Candidates should be interested in studying the epigenetic mechanisms linking psychosocial stress with neuropsychiatric disorders. The successful candidate will work in an interdisciplinary environment and will lead epigenome-wide analyses in
DNA derived from both large-scale studies in human cohorts and mechanistic experiments in cellular models. The postdoc will be actively involved in dissemination of research findings, including the writing of scientific manuscripts. The postdoc may also work with and supervise other lab members as warranted for the successful completion of ongoing research projects. | Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
PhD in computational biology/bioinformatics, biostatistics, or related field. |
| Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Experience in the analysis of large-scale data.
Knowledge of relevant programming languages.
Wet lab experience required. |
| Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Previous experience in analyzing sequencing and
DNA methylation data, bench lab exposure to cellular and molecular experiments, and a strong record of scholarly accomplishments are strongly preferred. |
