Machinist

• One year of trade school in Machining, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field preferred.
• OR a minimum of three years of experience in a machine shop environment.
• Ability to read blueprints, machining prints, and technical work instructions.
• Understanding of machining symbols, tolerances, tooling, and material properties.

• Previous experience operating and setting up CNC mills, CNC lathes, manual lathes, manual mills, grinders, or similar machining equipment.
• Strong knowledge of machining tolerances, tooling selection, machine setup, and production processes.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and inspection tools.
• Ability to inspect parts for dimensional accuracy, surface finish, hardness, and material requirements.
• Experience performing preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to cross-train across multiple machine shop disciplines.

• Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Frequent use of hands for operating machinery, measuring equipment, and material handling.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach as required.
• Occasionally lift and move up to 50 lbs.
• Strong visual abilities, including depth perception, close vision, and attention to detail for precision inspections.
• Ability to work overtime when needed.

• Set up and operate CNC and manual machining equipment according to work instructions and blueprints.
• Manufacture precision parts while maintaining tight tolerances and quality standards.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, machining prints, and production documentation.
• Select tooling, fixtures, and work-holding methods to ensure efficient production.
• Perform in-process and final inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and basic troubleshooting on machining equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production schedules and quality objectives.
• Cross-train in CNC machining, manual machining, surface grinding, and cylindrical grinding operations.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and recommend process enhancements.
