Operations Accountant

The Operations Accountant is responsible for the daily production, receipt, shipping and reconciliation of inventory for multiple plant organizations, monthly inventory close and reconciliation for multiple plants, and other related inventory transactions. In addition, the position is responsible for assisting corporate and regional marketing staff with inventory and shipping related transactions. Inventory related support for other locations as needed is also considered to be part of this position.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Record daily inventory production.

• Blend inventory and ship transactions based upon the detail provided by the plant personnel.

• Monitor and review shipment/invoicing status.

• Train plant personnel to provide necessary documentation to support production, changes in inventory and shipping transactions and to reconcile balances.

• Communicate and resolve issues with the plant personnel when data does not adequately support the transactions.

• Prepare analysis as requested to support plant, regional and corporate management.

• Implement and enforce policies and effective internal controls.

• Support internal and external audit requests.

• Perform a variety of complicated special projects. May lead and direct the work of others.

• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.

• Two to five years of accounting experience in Accounts Payable or Inventory Accounting needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
• Solid understanding of general accounting and perpetual inventory concepts & principals.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent math skills, including statistical analysis.
• Highly organized; superior time management skills.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

• Position is based in an office environment
• Occasional travel to off-site locations is required.
• Occasionally exposed to high noise levels, strong odors, varying temperatures, and biohazardous conditions.
• Occasionally travel to off-site locations is required.
• Requires prolonged sitting and movement throughout office/work locations, as well as occasional use of computers and office equipment.
• Must frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb or balance.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and identify potential workplace hazards.
• Requires the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10lbs.
