What You'll Do
As a Mental Health Intern, you will gain hands-on, in-person clinical experience that builds on your academic coursework. You will manage your own client caseload in a supportive, structured setting and serve a diverse client base, including people who may have limited access to mental health care because of financial barriers. You will work closely with a clinical supervisor and our team of licensed therapists as you grow into a confident, compassionate mental health provider.

• Provide Psychotherapy and Counseling: Deliver in-office therapy and counseling to your own caseload under the supervision of experienced clinicians.
• Maintain Clinical Documentation: Complete assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately and on time.
• Learn Through Mentorship and Supervision: Receive direct guidance from a clinical supervisor and collaborate with a dedicated team of licensed therapists.
• Develop Culturally Competent Care: Take part in trainings and case discussions focused on culturally responsive, empathetic care.
• Make a Meaningful Impact: Help individuals who might otherwise go without quality mental health services.

Internship Details

• Internship lasts two consecutive semesters, with a full one-year commitment preferred
• 10 to 24 hours per week during office hours (Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM)
• Start dates: Spring 2027 and Fall 2027
• In-person, in-office placement in Milwaukee, WI
• Clinical supervision and ongoing training throughout the internship

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in a master's degree program in Social Work or a counseling-related field required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.
