SUMMARY

The Senior Process Engineer is responsible for driving process development and continuous improvement projects. The Senior Process Engineer will evaluate manufacturing processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and work with cross-functional teams to develop solutions. The Senior Process Engineer will work under general guidance and focus on complex project management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adhere to the Company's Quality Management System to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Perform special assignments as directed by supervision commensurate with experience.

  • Perform other engineering duties as required.
  • Review purchase orders and create CAD models, shop floor drawings, fixtures, BOM's, routers, and any additional materials and/or technical documents required for manufacturing.
  • Supports and/or leads Engineering initiatives toward overall manufacturing process stabilization and optimization.
  • Lead internal continuous improvement projects through strategic planning and team resource allocation.
  • Develop best practices, routines, and innovative solutions to improve production rates and output quality
  • Identify, propose, and oversee new projects that contribute to the overall business strategy.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Center to support new R&D projects and technologies.
  • Oversee immediate production issues by participating in Material Review Board (MRB) meetings and determining appropriate solutions.
  • Contributes manufacturing knowledge in completing process validation efforts (IQ, OQ, PQ).
  • Organizes meetings to communicate status updates, encourage information transparency, and promote team synergy.
  • Oversee/contribute to overall development of SOP's and other manufacturing-related documentation.
  • Provide technical guidance to engineering team as required.
  • Support overall engineering team productivity, priority, and daily workflows.
  • Provide regular communications to senior management and project stakeholders, as required.
  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment by following all company safety policies, procedures, and work instructions, and by promptly reporting unsafe conditions, incidents, or concerns to supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Willingness to work at a machine on the shop floor for an indeterminate period to gain additional machining knowledge if necessary
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to change
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have experience using MRP/ERP system
  • Work experience in a manufacturing environment; Swiss Screw machining preferred
  • Work experience and communication skills with cross-functional teams
  • Work experience in process development and/or continuous improvement
  • Work experience in planning and leading projects from conception to completion
  • Project collaboration experience with external stakeholders
  • Experience with fixture development and design
  • Root-Cause Analysis skills
  • Experience training and/or mentoring junior engineers
  • Team Leadership and Influencing skills
  • Must be able to multitask and manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Must be able to exercise independent judgment and discretion
  • Knowledge of statistical process control, SPC
  • Lean Six Sigma certification (Black Belt preferred, Green Belt a plus)
  • Machining experience preferred; Manual, CNC Lathes, CNC Mills

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in engineering, physical sciences, life sciences, or a related technical field, with 5+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing, laboratory, and/or experimental setting (e.g., process development, production support, or hands-on technical work). *
  • Preferred: Master's degree in engineering, physical sciences, life sciences, or a related technical field, with 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment. *

*Or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience, such as lab-based research, experimental process work, or internships/co-ops involving manufacturing or technical operations

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Preferred: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
