Responsibilities

Summary:
The Executive Vice President, Transportation provides strategic leadership and oversight for GEO Transportation, Inc. (GTI), to include business strategy, operational performance, safety, service delivery, and organizational effectiveness. This role oversees all transportation operations, aligns GTI objectives with Company priorities, and ensures that services are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with contractual obligations, federal and state laws, and Company policies and procedures.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Executive Vice President, Transportation sets the strategic direction and business priorities for GTI, ensuring transportation operations support Company goals, client commitments, growth objectives, and enterprise risk management expectations.
  • Provides executive leadership for GTI operations, budgets, service delivery, transportation performance, and organizational effectiveness, ensuring services are delivered within established timeframes and in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • The Executive Vice President, Transportation ensures all GTI facilities comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements and all applicable federal, state, and local laws, as well as Company policies and procedures.
  • Leads high-level contract strategy, negotiations, vendor relationships, and client-facing transportation matters in partnership with senior leadership.
  • The Executive Vice President, Transportation oversees financial performance, annual operating plans, expenditures, cost controls, and resource allocation for transportation operations; identifies opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and return on investment.
  • Interviews and makes selection recommendations for regional and senior facility management positions. Evaluates the performance of these employees and makes recommendations regarding compensation.
  • Develops transportation policies, operating standards and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen service quality, compliance, and productivity.
  • Provides guidance and participates in new facility start-ups.
  • Participates as a member of the senior management team.
    Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Transportation, Logistics, Public Administration, Criminal Justice, or a related field required; advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • Fifteen (15) years' experience in directing activities of automotive or transportation personnel, purchasing and contract negotiations, with at least ten (10) years managerial experience.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of state and federal correctional practices, policies/procedures, and ACA requirements.
  • Must be able to work independently and within groups. Must be able to work with all stakeholders at each level within the organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to make formal presentations infront of an audience or in written documents.
  • This position requires above average travel with frequent overnight stays.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
  • Above average knowledge of spreadsheet software.
