Route Driver

Specific Job Responsibilities:

* Safely load, deliver, and unload compressed gas cylinders (HP and LP) containing industrial, medical, and specialty gases; return empty cylinders to branch or plant for refilling.
* Perform all required pre- and post-trip inspections per DOT regulations.
* Complete all FDA/DOT required documentation.
* Track delivery and pick-up of cylinders at customer sites using handheld device and complete all the required information/steps during the delivery and pick-up processes.
* Keep truck clean and in line with DOT standards.
* Communicate with supervisor on truck maintenance, customer-related issues, and delivery efficiencies.
* Establish and maintain good customer relations by communicating in person with customers.
* Identify and monitor customers' needs and work with them to maintain proper hard goods and cylinder levels to minimize or eliminate emergency deliveries.
* Operate a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment.
* Ensure all safety rules are strictly observed.

Qualifications:

* High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
* One (1) year driving experience.
* CDL A or B with Hazmat Endorsement.
* Clean MVR driving record.
* Employee must be able to lift 65 lbs.
* Employee must meet all physical qualification standards imposed by the DOT.
* Ability to read and comprehend Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
* While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk on concrete for an extended period of time; bend; use hands and arms; and handle cylinders regularly weighing 150 pounds up to a maximum of 600 pounds.
* Flexibility to work overtime as required.
