Description

The Digital Solutions Private Sector Unit Portfolio Lead reports to the Regional Director of Technical Services and is responsible for supporting and advancing the business development, sales and delivery of Brown and Caldwell's (BC) digital solutions strategy and services in the Private Sector Business Unit. The Digital Solutions PSBU Portfolio Lead understands and capitalizes on client needs for emerging digital solutions and builds teams to serve them.

The Digital Solutions Private Sector Unit Portfolio Lead oversees the management of digital solutions portfolios, develops and implements portfolio strategies, and leads cross-functional teams in portfolio planning and execution. The role will monitor and report on portfolio performance to senior leadership



Responsibilities



  • Lead and manage large projects or processes with strategic importance to the company.
  • Develop and execute digital strategies based on an understanding of client needs and market insights.
  • Oversee the management and development of the digital solutions portfolio, ensuring its alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with client service managers by equipping them with digital solutions content, messaging, and training materials to support sales and upsell opportunities.
  • Contribute to the creation and continuous improvement of digital service catalogs and marketing materials tailored to client needs.
  • Lead coordination of internal communications and working sessions to align BU growth with Digital Solutions delivery.
  • Drive external visibility and brand projection of digital solutions.
  • Build, maintain, and manage client relationships focused on their digital project portfolio.
  • Participate in the development of lightweight internal governance frameworks and training resources for portfolio growth.
  • Develop content for internal and external communications (e.g., slide decks, infographics, articles, dashboards, blog posts) in collaboration with marketing and technical teams.
  • Lead or co-lead digital solution demos, brown bags, and roadshows to promote offerings and build internal and external engagement.
  • Solve complex, undefined problems that may have a significant impact on the company.
  • Coordinate with business units, HR, and technical practices to align portfolio development with enterprise strategy.
  • Actively participate in efforts to define and refine digital solution offerings based on client feedback and market trends.
  • Analyze market trends for strategic decision-making and future business development.
  • Provide informal coaching and support for digital solutions team members an contribute to internal training and initiatives
  • Flexibility to adapt and execute various additional assignments based on evolving needs.



Mentorship



  • Provide mentorship, guidance, support, and knowledge-sharing to help less experienced team members develop their skills and grow within their roles.



Skills and Competencies



  • Extensive experience in portfolio management and digital strategy execution with a strong understanding of client needs.
  • Advanced competency in role-specific skills, such as digital strategy development, portfolio management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps), SharePoint, and other collaboration tools. Skilled in business development and management of the digital sales funnel.
  • Well-versed in driving external visibility and brand projection of digital solutions.
  • Exceptional skills in client relationship management concerning their digital project portfolio.



Experience



  • Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of portfolio management or related experience.
  • Typically certified in the SMS Framework, and progressing through the SMS competencies.
  • Experience in preparing sales tools, supporting training efforts, and building internal alignment across departments.
  • Experience in leading large projects or processes with strategic value to organizations.
  • Demonstrated track record of significant accomplishments in their field.



Education



  • An undergraduate degree or equivalent experience is required.



Preferred Skills and Experience



  • B.S. or M.S. in engineering, geology, hydrogeology, or a related field is required.
  • Professional registration.
  • A minimum of 10 years of increasingly responsible professional experience in the environmental services or water utility and/or consulting industry.
  • Proven record in business development and sales support of digital solutions and services.

Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Location A: $117,000 - $159,000
Location B: $128,000 - $175,000
Location C: $140,000 - $191,000
