Description

MISO is seeking a Transmission Rates Advisor who knows Formula Rates inside and out and is excited to apply that knowledge to industrydefining initiatives like Large Loads and LRTP.

If you've spent your career navigating complex tariff and transmission rate issues, this role gives you the opportunity to:



  • Be involved in how rates for major transmission projects are conceived, designed, and implemented.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and our diverse external stakeholders across the footprint.
  • Apply lessons learned from your realworld industry experience to help drive practical, forwardlooking rate solutions.

In one year as a Transmission Rates Advisor, you will know you're successful if you are:



  • A point person regarding rate design for MISO initiatives.
  • Serving as a Subject Matter Expert for complex tariff and transmission rate development issues.


  • A developing expert in BPM, Calculation Guide and Tariff Language; drafts updates and changes.
  • Using broad understanding of industry and customer segments to anticipate outcomes and represent MISO transmission pricing position.


  • Beginning to act as a mentor to others on the team to support their development of knowledge and analytical skills.


A successful candidate will have at least a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or related field; and at least eight years of energy industry experience.

Our ideal candidate has extensive experience in transmission rates at the transmission owner or ISO level, is comfortable with public speaking and presentation, and has general skills in Customer Service, Data Analysis, and Finance.

The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $148,000.00 - $173,000.00 USD annually. Base salary range for this position is included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, and qualifications/experience.

Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.

Position is also eligible for an annual bonus if individual performance and company objectives are met. At MISO we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including 401k, vacation, sick and safe time, available on your first day of employment.
