IMEG is hiring an Electrical Engineering New Grad in San Francisco, California. This entry-level role offers hands-on design, analysis, and project execution experience, with mentorship, training, and opportunities to grow your expertise from day one. You will work closely with experienced engineers and consultants to support electrical systems in buildings and help deliver positive outcomes for clients.

In this role, you will support project execution, planning, documentation, quality control, and coordination across multidisciplinary teams while working within project budgets and client expectations. You will contribute to education-focused projects with supporting exposure to healthcare and public-sector work, advancing high-performance, energy-efficient design aligned with MEP2050 and AIA2030. This requisition is for an anticipated start date of December 2026.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with the design and analysis of electrical systems, using engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations in accordance with code requirements and IMEG standards.
  • Interact with clients to understand needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively while building and maintaining client relationships through professional communication.
  • Support the execution of consulting projects as part of a project team.
  • Assist with project planning and scheduling to help meet project deadlines and objectives.
  • Assist with documenting design decisions and client instructions while monitoring project design progress.
  • Analyze low to medium complexity engineering tasks and propose innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions.
  • Participate in IMEG quality control processes to ensure designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards, and client requirements.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in electrical engineering, and contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG.
  • Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work and identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with electrical systems.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals.

What You'll Bring

Required Education

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
  • Strong technical and analytical skills including knowledge of principles relating to circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systems design for buildings
  • Knowledge of industry standard engineering software and tools, including lighting photometric calculation software such as AGI, Elum Tools, Visual Lighting, or other; energy compliance software such as ComCheck; and familiar use of Adobe or Bluebeam Revu
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges
  • Basic knowledge in the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) software
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays

Preferred

  • Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred
  • Engineering in Training (EIT) License preferred

State of California Salary Range: $83,000 - $87,000

Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
