Purpose:

Worley is seeking a Process Engineer II to join our Baton Rouge team, supporting refining, chemical, petrochemical, energy, and industrial projects across the Gulf Coast. This role is suited for an engineer who can independently execute standard process engineering assignments while continuing to develop broader technical depth. The Process Engineer II will support process simulations, heat and material balances, PFDs, P&IDs, hydraulic calculations, equipment sizing, and discipline deliverables under the direction of senior engineers, lead engineers, and project leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and support process engineering deliverables including heat and material balances, process flow diagrams, P&IDs, process descriptions, equipment data sheets, line lists, and instrument process data.
  • Perform process simulations, hydraulic calculations, pressure drop evaluations, equipment sizing, and relief/flare calculations with guidance as needed.
  • Support front-end studies, feasibility assessments, debottlenecking scopes, brownfield revamps, and detailed design projects for operating facilities in the Baton Rouge/Gulf Coast market.
  • Coordinate with mechanical, piping, instrumentation, electrical, civil/structural, project controls, procurement, construction, and client teams to support integrated project execution.
  • Review vendor information, support technical bid evaluations, and provide process input to requisitions and procurement activities.
  • Participate in design reviews, model reviews, HAZOP/LOPA support, constructability reviews, and client coordination meetings as assigned.
  • Support field activities including site walkdowns, data gathering, tie-in support, and construction/commissioning issue resolution as needed.
  • Follow Worley, client, statutory, regulatory, HSE, and quality requirements while delivering accurate, timely, and practical engineering work.

What you will bring
Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:

  • Typically 3+ years of process engineering experience supporting refining, chemical, petrochemical, industrial, energy, or similar facilities and projects.
  • Working knowledge of process engineering fundamentals, applicable codes and standards, and the interaction between process engineering and other disciplines.
  • Experience with process simulation and process engineering software such as Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, PIPE-FLO, AFT Fathom/Arrow, or similar tools is preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.

Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from a recognized college or university.

Preferred:

  • Ability to support the Baton Rouge, LA office and travel periodically to local client sites and operating facilities as project needs require.
