Description Location: 2239 E. 55th St. Cleveland, OH 44103 Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm Travel Expectations: May be up to 75% travel throughout Ohio, primarily Northeast Ohio but should pursue opportunities throughout the state Employment Status: Full Time, Hourly FLSA: Exempt Vocational Guidance Services (VGS) changes lives and strengthens our communities through services that educate, empower, and provide the opportunity to earn a paycheck! VGS is a highly acclaimed, successful, private, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) vocational rehabilitation agency with over 135 years of dedicated experience serving persons with disabilities or other barriers to employment. We are hiring for an exciting new opportunity as a Manager of Market Expansion! This person will be responsible for driving revenue and business growth by marketing and selling a diverse portfolio of services including manufacturing, custodial contracts, and vocational services to both government and private sector clients. The position manages the entire sales cycle from strategic planning, market analysis and proactive lead generation to negotiating and closing profitable deals. Beyond new business development, the role focuses heavily on account management and operational alignment. Responsible for sales, directing and assisting in the marketing of all VGS services including manufacturing services, custodial contracts, placement sites, group employment sites, and providing new connections to VGS. Market and sell Contract Shop, Custodial Services, Temporary Services, Community Based Work Adjustment, Community Based Work Experience, and Placement opportunities to all levels of the government and the private sector. Develop and implement strategic sales plans related to all division opportunities as they become available. Review market analysis to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates. Call on prospects to explain features of services, cost, and advantages. Negotiate contract and subcontract quotes to ensure surplus income in relation to total expenses. Close deals, after price approval of the COO, to ensure a surplus of income in relation to total expenses. Write orders and schedule the initiation of services to hand off to operations. Meet or exceed annual sales goals. Develop leads by studying business directories, consulting business associates, checking help wanted ads, internet prospecting for business leads, and creating, implementing, and monitoring email campaigns. Maintain marketing leads and contact databases and expand through ongoing marketing efforts. Attend weekly sales meetings. Prospect and attend community groups such as but not limited to chamber of commerce, business clubs, Rotary clubs, and Employment Collaborative of Cuyahoga County. Collaborates with VGS departments to develop a comprehensive implementation strategy and 90-day project launch plan to ensure project success. Confer with customers and company officials to resolve complaints, troubleshoot potential problems, and maintain customer liaison for any problems encountered. Prepare annual budget for new sales and participate in reforecasting. Maintain sales expenses within the approved budget. Qualifications Five to seven years' experience in production, operations, marketing or sales. Bachelor's degree preferred. Must have proven experience in developing new business opportunities.
