Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a part-time Program Assistant for Rutgers Future Scholars (
RFS). The Program Assistant will provide operational, administrative, and programmatic support for the Rutgers Future Scholars program at the Rahway, NJ site.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Supports the execution of academic year and summer programming.
- Assists with facilitation of workshops, advising sessions, and scholar engagement activities.
- Monitors scholar participation, engagement, and completion of program components.
- Documents program activities, attendance, and outcomes.
- Drafts and distributes communications to scholars and families (emails, reminders, updates).
- Develops and manages a bi-monthly or quarterly RFS Rahway newsletter highlighting programming, scholar achievements, and opportunities.
- Supports social media updates aligned with RFS and Rutgers branding.
- Assists with outreach to maintain engagement with both in-district and out-of-district scholars.
- Coordinates logistics for workshops, events, and meetings (virtual and in-person).
- Prepares materials, presentations, and session resources.
- Provides real-time operational and technical support during programming.
- Assists with document preparation, formatting, and resource development.
- Supports internal coordination across RFS staff and Rahway partners.
- Contributes to special projects and program initiatives as needed.

The final salary offer may be determined by several factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's qualifications, experience, and expertise, and availability of department or grant funds to support the position. Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Experience working with youth, preferably in educational or college access programs.
- Experience working with first-generation student populations.
- Experience supporting cohort-based programs or mentoring students.
- Strong writing skills (newsletters, communications, reports).
- Familiarity with student data tracking systems and learning management systems.

Immunization Requirements
Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
