Job Description:

Anakim Consulting Inc. is hiring a senior level Network Engineer to perform a variety of complex network engineering tasks independently and lead major technical and engineering network activities. Qualified candidates will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of integrated enterprise networks, including hardware, software, personnel, and support facilities. This role involves leading a group of engineers, analysts, and technicians to execute technical projects within budgetary and scheduling guidelines while supporting enterprise infrastructure for a federal customer.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise (ALE) OmniSwitch administration, including configuration, deployment, VLAN architecture, spanning tree configurations, link aggregation, and switch lifecycle management.
• Manage and monitor switch infrastructure using the OmniVista Network Management System, building configuration templates, managing dashboards/alerts, and coordinating centralized firmware rollouts.
• Configure and maintain Fortinet FortiGate firewall policies, routing configurations, high availability (HA) pairs, and security profiles to enforce network segmentation.
• Utilize FortiAnalyzer for centralized log aggregation, traffic analysis, security event correlation, and compliance reporting.
• Design and manage 802.1X network access control policies using Aruba ClearPass, including certificate-based authentication (EAP-TLS) and PKI/certificate lifecycle management.
• Lead, supervise, and direct a team of network engineers, analysts, and technicians assigned to technical projects and operational areas.
• Troubleshoot complex multi-layer network issues spanning switching, routing, firewall, and NAC systems, while maintaining topology diagrams, SOPs, and configuration baselines.
• Participate in on-call rotations and collaborate with cross-functional IT teams on network security, connectivity, and infrastructure changes.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

• U.S. citizenship; no dual citizenship permitted
• Current NASA security access or ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government security access at the Public Trust level
• Bachelor's or associate's degree in a related discipline such as Network Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar
• 10-15 years of related network engineering experience - must include 5+ years of recent and relevant work with enterprise network engineering or administration
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and prioritize workload
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and independent decision-making abilities
• Excellent oral, written, and customer service communication skills across all organizational levels.
• Ability to work within environmental requirements including: Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. for up to 100 feet at a time; must be able to lift 25 lbs. vertically using ladders. Must be able to work in confined spaces, such as raised floors or communications closets; must be able to work in noisy environments, such as data centers and operations centers; must be able to stand or sit for 8 hours at a time

Technical Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise switches (OmniSwitch series).
• Experience managing switch infrastructure through OmniVista.
• Working knowledge of Fortinet FortiGate firewall administration (policies, routing, HA).
• Experience with FortiAnalyzer or similar log management and reporting tools.
• Experience implementing 802.1X authentication with ClearPass (or similar NAC platform), including certificate-based (EAP-TLS) authentication.
• Solid understanding of PKI concepts, certificate management, and networking fundamentals (VLANs, spanning tree, OSPF/BGP, QoS, network security).
