A Day in the Life of an Integrated Behavioral Health Social Worker The Integrated Behavioral Health Social Worker provides psychosocial assessment, diagnosis, brief evidence-based interventions, and ongoing support for oncology patients and others across the hospital. The role addresses needs ranging from coping, treatment adherence, and behavior change to same-day behavioral health concerns and crisis situations while connecting patients and families with appropriate resources. Working closely with physicians, nurses, social workers, behavioral health professionals, and other care team members, this position integrates behavioral health into coordinated, patient-centered medical care. The work requires managing an outpatient caseload alongside timely documentation, psychosocial screening, regulatory and Commission on Cancer requirements, education, consultation, and responsiveness to changing patient needs. In addition to direct patient care, this social worker helps develop and improve the Integrated Behavioral Health model through interdisciplinary initiatives, workflow improvement, community outreach, and ongoing quality improvement. About the Outpatient Services Department Fighting Cancer, Restoring Hope In Oncology at CRMC, we do more than treat cancer - we walk alongside our patients and their families, offering expert care, unwavering support, and hope in every step of their journey. From diagnosis to treatment and survivorship, our team provides cutting-edge therapies while ensuring that no patient ever feels alone in their fight. Whether it's administering chemotherapy, managing symptoms, or simply being there to listen, our team is a source of strength for those facing life's toughest battle. Beyond treatment, we believe in supporting the whole person-body, mind, and spirit. That's why CRMC created the Courage Cabinet, a special fund made possible by our annual Kaleidoscope fundraiser making sure no patient has to choose between their health and basic necessities. If you're looking for a career where medicine meets meaning and where hope is just as powerful as treatment, join us here at CRMC. Ideal Candidate (What will make you a great fit!)
