The University of Georgia Facilities Management Division is the largest of seven (7) divisions reporting to the Vice President for Finance and Administration. The exceptional staff of over 900 personnel within the division manage, operate and maintain campus landscapes, buildings and infrastructure to promote the long-term sustainability of the University.

High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related experience

Position Summary
This is skilled specialized technical work at the journeyman level involving operating, installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC control systems and components to include but not limited to chillers, air handlers, terminal units, water coils, pumps, valves, motor starters and other related equipment. (Systems are primarily central air handling type with hydronic heating and cooling units.)
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair HVAC control systems.
  • Knowledge of the various types of HVAC systems and their components.
  • Ability to understand HVAC control diagrams, blueprints, and equipment manuals and use same to troubleshoot system problems, make repairs, and install new components.
  • Ability to use diagnostic test equipment and tools of the HVAC and TAB trades.
  • Understand and apply standard trade practices in performing work.
  • Knowledge of HVAC control theory and application.

Lifting, stooping, bending, kneeling, crawling, ladder and scaffold work.
Lift 75lbs. throughout the day.
