This position leads the strategic oversight of key accounts within the managed markets strategy department. The role is responsible for strategic planning for market access, patient access, population health management, reimbursement and pull-through for Spherico clients. This individual is expected to be a subject matter expert possessing knowledge of the managed markets space, payers (commercial and government), integrated delivery networks, health systems, specialty, retail, wholesalers, and GPOs. The Director, Market Access Strategy partners with the broader strategy, creative and client management teams to ensure success through growth and retention of accounts, achievement of client brand metrics, and account profitability.

The Director, Market Access Strategy will be a key collaborator with creative and account teams to deliver strategic guidance and thought partnership for clients. This is a role that requires drive and collaboration to seek out opportunities for both active and new clients.

  • Reporting to the SVP, Managing Markets Strategy, you drive the strategic responsibilities for key accounts. You will recommend strategic initiatives, pull in strategic tools and resources from the broader Syneos Ad strategy team, and use overall understanding of the value that market access strategy can bring to the table. You will set standards for how strategy can work effectively within varying scopes of work.
  • There will also be opportunities to lead the managed markets strategy for new business pitches, leveraging the SH Advertising New Business Growth Operations team and process, and contributing significantly to the strategic insights, recommendations and presentations of new business pitches
  • You will work seamlessly with your colleagues in account, medical, creative, and integrated strategy to build, enable and advocate for strategic ideas and products that produce solutions that delight our clients

The Director, Market Access Strategy has a natural curiosity and affinity for big ideas and has excellent skills in finding ways to understand trends, beliefs and behaviors. The information you consume is brought forward as useful insights and strong strategic points of view, guiding the team with measurable objectives, and ultimately addressing our clients' business challenges. You will apply communication skills, collaboration, influential personality, and foresight to proactively meet the evolving needs of the clients and the agency.

Responsibilities
Duties may include, but are not limited to all or some of the following:

  • Leads the strategy for key accounts within Spherico
  • Work directly with clients and contribute to solving their business challenges. Identify ways to support client success and organic growth opportunities for the agency (being an indispensable thought partner to the client)
  • Partners with client management in identifying market access opportunities and strategic vision in collaboration with cross-functional team of strategists (Brand, Medical, OCX). Is a steward of the brand who champions thinking and approaches consistent with the client's vision of the managed markets space
  • Engages in content development, closely partnering with creative writers and medical to ensure strategic excellence
  • Proactively brings managed markets trends, learnings, updates from the market and their experience to clients, demonstrating true strategic value
  • Establishes industry-leading best practices and knowledge of the craft to ensure work quality and client service
  • Leverages strong communication and listening skills that deliver effective presentations and points of view
  • Engages in continual learning and development to refine their strategic craft
  • Creates thought leadership content and points of view for agency marketing and promotion and team learnings

Requirements

Duties may include, but are not limited to all or some of the following...

  • BS/BA required; Advanced degree preferred (MBA, RPH, PharmD)
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant managed markets strategy and management experience
  • Experience working in communications for health-related brands and categories (pharmaceutical, hospitals/health systems, health insurers)
  • Experience working on the following: market research/data analysis, managed markets pharmaceutical or biotech marketing launches, and value/cost message development
  • Knowledge of the managed markets space, payers (commercial and government), integrated delivery networks, health systems, specialty, retail, wholesalers, and GPOs
  • Demonstrated strategic leadership, team collaboration, and communication skills

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $120,000 to $150,000. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance.
