The vision of Gas Turbine Fuel Systems Division is to be the global leader in the design, development, manufacture, and service of engine fuel, lubrication, and thermal management systems and components for aerospace/defense and industrial applications. POSITION SUMMARY

Seeking an Aerospace/Mechanical Engineer skilled in Solid Mechanics and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to support the design and development of advanced fuel nozzles, pumps, valves, thermal management systems, and other components for gas turbine engines. Key responsibilities include performing structural and thermal FEA, optimizing materials and designs, overseeing design assurance testing, supporting certification, and collaborating with internal and external teams. May have indirect or matrix responsibility to guide the technical work of a team to achieve project milestones. Has regular and frequent internal interface to present project status; may be the primary contact with customer/suppliers for projects requiring coordination

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Conduct static, dynamic, thermal, modal, and fatigue analyses using FEA tools.
  • Present analysis results, oversee design/analysis validation tests and prepare technical reports.
  • Contribute to R&D projects on materials and new technologies.
  • Lead the adoption of ML and AI tools for design exploration, analysis process automation, material selections
  • Collaborate in a team environment to improve product performance and cost.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required: MS/ME with focus on FEA plus 5 years' experience in FEA, or PhD in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or related field, with focus on solid mechanics, FEA.
  • Required: Minimum 5 years relevant experience in engineering analysis and FEA (includes graduate level research), and strong knowledge of solid mechanics and FEA methods
  • Strongly desired: Experience in lifing predictions (low-cycle fatigue, high-cycle fatigue) and crack propagation (physics and modeling).
  • Strongly desired: Experience in with applications of AI/ML in engineering analysis to support design optimization and design-tool development.
  • Familiarity with materials (superalloys, stainless steels), manufacturing/joining methods, and coatings such as Thermal / Environmental Barrier Coatings (TBCs / EBCs) is a plus.
  • Experience with MATLAB, Python, CFD, GD&T, and dynamic structural modeling is desirable.
  • Effective communicator and team player, able to manage multiple projects.
