As a Youth Facility Security Officer - Badge Intake in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a government location, you will help maintain a secure environment by monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, screening visitors and property, and using technology to document access activity. This driving position offers the opportunity to provide outstanding customer service while supporting a caring, agile, reliable, and innovative team that acts with integrity.

Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities at a government juvenile services location.
• Monitor and control access to the facility by verifying authorization, screening visitors, maintaining visitor logs, and directing authorized individuals according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entry points, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
• Document daily activities, access-control issues, incidents, and observations in accordance with site-specific policies and reporting requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
