Your role

As a Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op, your mission is to complete a designated process improvement project through-out their time at Atlas Copco. The scope of the project will be determined at the start of each quarter and will focus specifically on the part inspection and custom packaging processes. Projects opportunities include a range of topics such as process review and standardization, system improvement and optimization, and part design and modeling. The individual in this role will work closely with on-site manufacturing engineers and operations personnel to achieve success in their project and will have the opportunity to engage with a variety of departments and areas of the company. You will report to the Lead Manufacturing Process Engineer.

You will



  • Complete assigned project to meet determined deliverables.
  • Interact with manufacturing engineers to review project status.
  • Interface with manufacturing personnel to develop processes and procedures.
  • Prepare technical documents to support improvements, processes, and changes.
  • Conduct time studies, observations, and investigate process inefficiencies.
  • Conduct trials and/or installations of projects for improvement.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in productivity, waste reduction, safety/ergonomics, etc.
  • Conduct work in a safe and reliable manner.
  • Other duties as required.

  • Good communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptable and willingness to learn and develop.
  • Able to operate effectively and efficiently individually and as part of a team.
  • Computer skills to include Microsoft Office products.
  • Some 3D modeling experience.


EDUCATION OR QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Currently studying in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (AS APPLICABLE):





    • Ability to safely move about a large production facility as needed, on a regular basis.
