This role supports the company's tax function through tax accounting, compliance, reporting, and forecasting activities across federal, state, international, sales and use, and property tax areas. As a flexible resource, the role provides critical support by during peak compliance, provision, and tax planning cycles by preparing tax calculations, reconciliations, workpapers, filings, and supporting documentation to ensure accurate and timely compliance. The role partners with internal stakeholders and external advisors to respond to audits and notices, resolve tax matters and information requests. Additionally, the role will work with tax technology, automation, research, and special projects that drive process improvements and enhance the organization's tax planning and reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Tax Accounting and Forecasting- Prepare quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations, prepare tax account reconciliations and supporting workpapers, support effective tax rate analyses and tax forecasting processes, prepare tax-related financial statement disclosures, document tax accounting conclusions, and support quarterly and annual close activities.
  • Federal Income Tax Compliance- Prepare supporting schedules and workpapers for federal income tax returns, calculate book-to-tax adjustments and tax depreciation calculations, gather and organize information required for return preparation, support estimated tax payment and extensions, maintain filing calendars, and resolve to routine information requests and notices.
  • Tax Technology, Advisory and Special Projects- Research tax technology solutions. Assess transactions and operational changes to determine tax implications, support analyses and recommendations, and support implementation of regulatory changes, process improvements, and emerging tax technologies. Participate in cross-functional projects and tax advisory initiatives.
  • Sales & Use Tax Compliance- Prepare sales and use tax filings, compile and validate transaction-level data, support audits and tax notices, perform indirect tax reconciliations, and resolve routine taxability and compliance matters.
  • State Income Tax Compliance- Prepare and analyze state income and franchise tax returns, apportionment calculations, and estimated tax payments. Interpret state tax laws and regulations, evaluate nexus and filing requirements, and identify potential tax risks and opportunities.
  • International Tax Compliance- Prepare international tax compliance workpapers and analyses, interpreting technical guidance, and identifying risks associated with foreign operations and reporting requirements.
  • Property Tax Compliance- Prepare supporting documentation for property tax filings, organize fixed asset information and jurisdictional reporting data, compile property tax payment tracking and notice management, maintain filing calendars and compliance records, and resolve routine property tax inquires.

Pay Range: $63,000.00 - $107,000.00 Annually



What we expect from you
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Management or Finance required.
  • Public Accounting internship or work experience is preferred.
  • CPA certification or active CPA candidate preferred.
  • Baseline technical skills in various products in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exposure to Tax software applications (provision and/or compliance).
  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Effective project management, time management and resource management skills, including the ability to work under tight deadlines.
Expected Work Location (In Office):It is expected that you will primarily perform work at the Wendy's Restaurant Support Center (RSC) (1 Dave Thomas Blvd, Dublin, OH 43017), or at other location(s) as designated by the Company. You are required to work in the office at least 4 days a week. Changes to work location arrangements are subject to managerial approval and business needs. #LI-Onsite

The base pay range for this position is listed below. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and budget for the open position and also may vary depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other relevant factors. This range does not include an estimated value for any benefits, bonus, or other incentives that may be applicable based on position. The target annual bonus for this role is 7.5% of annualized base salary, based on actual company and personal performance.
