Retail Execution District Manager
Position Summary
The Retail Execution District Manager leads frontline retail execution within an assigned territory, overseeing a team of retail associates responsible for merchandising, sales support, audits, and program implementation. This role drives execution excellence through hands-on leadership, coaching, training, and operational management while ensuring client objectives, retail standards, and performance expectations are consistently achieved.
The Retail Execution District Manager is responsible for staffing, scheduling, performance management, and associate development, while building strong relationships with store leadership and client partners to support successful program execution.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Retail Execution
- Oversee in-store merchandising, audit, and program execution activities to ensure compliance with client expectations and company standards.
- Ensure product placement, shelf conditions, pricing, signage, and merchandising standards are consistently maintained.
- Monitor store-level execution and identify opportunities to improve performance and compliance.
Leadership & Talent Development
- Directly manage, coach, and develop retail associates through regular field visits, observation, and performance feedback.
- Recruit, hire, onboard, train, schedule, and retain frontline associates.
- Conduct performance evaluations and implement coaching and development plans to improve individual and team performance.
- Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
Performance & Execution Management
- Monitor territory performance through reporting, scorecards, audits, and store visits.
- Identify performance gaps and implement corrective actions to improve execution and results.
- Ensure timely completion of assignments, projects, and store coverage requirements.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and communicate performance expectations to associates.
Client & Store Partnership
- Build and maintain effective relationships with store leadership and client stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary field contact for execution-related issues and opportunities.
- Partner with clients and store teams to support program objectives and resolve operational challenges.
Operational Excellence
- Manage territory schedules, staffing plans, travel routes, expenses, and reporting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate and timely reporting of execution activities, performance metrics, and business updates.
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience
- 2-4 years of experience in retail operations, merchandising, field management, or a related discipline.
- Prior experience leading, coaching, or supervising frontline teams preferred.
Travel
- Ability to travel up to 30% within the assigned territory.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Direct Reports
- Hire, train, coach, develop, and retain associates using established company processes, tools, and resources.
- Set performance expectations and provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and career development support.
- Conduct performance reviews and address performance concerns when necessary.
Indirect Reports
- May delegate work, provide direction, and offer guidance and mentoring to indirect reports and project team members.

Retail Operations & Execution
- Knowledge of retail merchandising principles, including planograms, product placement, shelving, pricing, and signage.

Environmental & Physical Requirements
Field Requirements: Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed in a retail in-store environment, which may include working in variable temperatures such as refrigerated areas, freezer sections and deli/bakery areas. The position typically requires the ability to spend 66%+ hours each workday performing the following activities: Engage in considerable physical activity, ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds, stand on feet for long periods of time, use consumer goods products, prepare, and serve food and beverages safely as appropriate for the product demonstration.
