Glaukos - Leave of Absence Manager How will you make an impact? The Leave of Absence Manager will serve as a subject matter expert overseeing leave of absence, workplace accommodation, disability, return-to-work, and workers' compensation programs. This role will manage complex employee cases, provide guidance to key stakeholders, and drive compliant, equitable, and employee-centered solutions for a global workforce, with primary responsibility for U.S. operations. What will you do?
- Lead the end-to-end administration of leave of absence, disability, workplace accommodation, return-to-work, and workers' compensation programs.
- Manage complex and sensitive employee cases, ensuring compliance with federal, state, local, and company requirements while balancing employee and business needs.
- Provide expert guidance to employees, managers, HR Business Partners, Payroll, Benefits, and Legal regarding leave eligibility, accommodations, job protection, pay impacts, and return-to-work planning.
- Partner with third-party administrators and vendors to ensure high-quality service delivery, effective case management, and timely issue resolution.
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures, training materials, communications, and operational documentation that support consistency and compliance.
- Monitor program metrics, analyze trends, conduct audits, and drive process improvements that enhance employee support, operational effectiveness, and risk management.
How will you get here?
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent employee benefits administration experience.
- 8+ years of progressive experience administering leave, accommodations, disability, and workers' compensation programs.
- Advanced knowledge of federal, state, and local requirements, including multi-state compliance.
- Experience independently managing complex and sensitive employee cases and partnering with third-party administrators.
- Strong judgment, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency with HRIS, reporting tools, and Microsoft 365
Professional certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, CLMS, or similar credentials are preferred.
