We are currently seeking a Patient Access Representative to join our team in Dallas, TX. What You'll Do As a Patient Access Representative, you will:
- Manages incoming calls and front desk activity by answering and routing calls via a multi-line phone system, greeting patients, vendors, and visitors, and maintaining a professional and organized reception area.
- Conducts appointment reminder calls to scheduled patients one business day in advance to support attendance and scheduling
- Retrieves, reviews, and processes referrals at the time of patient visits to ensure accurate and timely service delivery.
- Prepares patient charts in advance of scheduled appointments to support efficient registration and clinical workflow.
- Checks in scheduled and walk-in patients by completing registration activities, including updating demographic, guarantor, and insurance information, and securing all required documentation and signatures.
- Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits, determines authorization requirements, and communicates accurate out-of-pocket cost estimates to patients.
- Collects time-of-service payments, including co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances, in accordance with established policies.
- Processes referrals in compliance with established Service-Level Agreements (SLAs), ensuring completion within 24-48 hours.
- For same-day and urgent referrals, obtains all necessary medical records and documentation to support registration, insurance verification, and authorization prior to patient services.
- Schedules patient evaluations, equipment deliveries, and follow-up appointments, ensuring timely coordination and follow-through on outstanding referrals.
- Monitors assigned work queues to ensure accurate, complete, and timely processing of referrals and required documentation.
- Reviews and responds to emails, electronic referrals, and shared inbox communications within one business day to maintain responsiveness and workflow continuity.
- Supports the delivery of ancillary products and services, as needed.
- Reviews new claims and associated documentation for accuracy and completeness to facilitate timely billing and revenue recognition.
- Collaborates with the Health Information Management (HIM) team to support departmental initiatives and clinical and clinical site needs.
- Performs general administrative duties, including processing paper documentation, scanning and filing records, managing incoming and outgoing mail, coordinating shipping, and maintaining office supplies.
- Adheres to all Breg policies and applicable healthcare regulations, including safety standards, device related documentation protocols, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requirements.
- Stays up to date on industry changes and internal processes by actively participating in training, reviewing and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs), and collaborating with peers.
- Responsible for behaving in a professional manner both internally and externally in relationships that positively impact the company's reputation and comply with the company's policies and practices. Responsible for being accountable and committed to demonstrating Breg's cultural beliefs and achieving the key results of the company.
- Responsible for promoting Breg's culture within the organization using established tools such as storytelling, providing focused feedback, and recognition. What You Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and standard medical forms required
- Knowledge of EMR systems and understanding of where various data points and clinical information is located preferred
- Working knowledge of patient benefits to include deductibles, out-of-pocket max, and copayments preferred
- Ability to maintain consistent, regular attendance and punctuality.
- Computer proficient to include web browser/internet search, Microsoft (MS) Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint capabilities. Technical competence includes the ability to learn new software and systems.

Work Schedules include....
- May include variable start/end times outside of the company's standard business hours of 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.
Compensation Salary Range: $19.75-$24.50/hr. Actual compensation is determined by factors such as experience, skills, and business needs. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target range for new hire base salary/pay across all US locations. Actual pay is based on many factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographical location, work experience, skill set, relevant trainings and certifications, and business needs.
